Lars Mikkelsen3-765x1024At the age of 27, he was enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark and was graduated in the year 1995. In addition to his part in the drama series "The Killing, he also appeared in Borgen III, a Danish drama series. He also played a prominent part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as the blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television show House of Cards, he played the president of Russia. In 2018, he won an International Emmy Award for his character as the president of Russia on the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. It was broadcast in the UK in the year 2019. According to Mikkelsen's statement, he learned English from his brother through watching Monty Python recordings and watching the sketches of comedy.
